Are you new to Alberta? Get an Alberta Health Care Card
We can help you sign up for Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) coverage as soon as you have all the required documents. It’s important to apply as soon as possible, as you may be billed for provincially covered health services if you don’t yet have your card.

To make your visit even easier, you can download the required forms directly from Alberta.ca and complete them ahead of time, so you don’t have to wait when you arrive at Red Deer Registries.

Get a Mobile Health Card
Albertans can access a digital version of their Alberta Health Care card on their mobile device using the Alberta Wallet.
To get a mobile health card, you’ll need:
-
A verified Alberta.ca Account
-
A verified MyHealth Records account

Once verified, download the Alberta Wallet app from the Apple App Store or Google Play and add your Mobile Health Card. Your card can be shown directly from your phone when accessing health services.

The mobile health card includes a QR code that some health facilities can scan to securely confirm your information. If scanning isn’t available, the card can still be accepted and checked manually, along with photo ID.

Parents and guardians can also add mobile health cards for children under 16 to their Alberta Wallet through MyHealth Records.

If you need help, support is available through the MyHealth Records Help Desk by phone or email, with assistance offered in multiple languages.
